QDoes "Multilingual Artists" mean that I cannot apply if I can't speak several foreign languages?
"Multilingual" leads to the idea of having to be able to speak 3+ languages.
However, you can enter the audition if you can speak Japanese in addition to any other language.
Q"My _________ is at the conversational level.
Yes, you can. Your foreign language proficiency can be at a conversational level at this moment. We will arrange a program for you to improve your foreign language. Therefore, we are targeting artists who have used a foreign language, have taken foreign language classes, or are now in class for a foreign language.
QMy first language is __________ (not Japanese). Can I still apply?
Yes, you can. Should you be selected, we will arrange a program for you to improve your Japanese.
Q"Can the other language (in addition to Japanese) be any language?
It can be any language.
QCan I send other promotional materials such as photos or sound links besides
The preliminary audition includes only the materials specified on the website.
Please enter the audition process as instructed.
QDo photos and videos have to be taken by a professional or at a studio?
The quality of the photos and videos will not affect our judgment. We will even accept cell phone photos! So don't worry. Just note that your appeal might get lost if your image is dark and fuzzy, or if your voice is hard to hear. So try to find a location with good lighting, take a clear image, and speak strongly.
QWhen you say "above the waist shot," what are you looking for?
A photo that clearly shows your face is necessary, and we'd ideally like to see from the top of your head down to your chest.
QWhat kind of "full-length shot" are you looking for?
"With the full-length shot, we prefer a normal photo of you standing and facing the camera, rather than you striking a pose.
With both photos, please wear simple clothing so we can see the true you. We are more interested in who you are than what you wear."
QCan I wear makeup?
We prefer audition footage with no makeup, but if you choose to wear cosmetics, we suggest light makeup/a natural look. Also, if you wear glasses, please take them off when shooting.
QAfter the application is processed, what will happen to my audition photos/videos?
The administrative office will discard the submitted materials responsibly.
QWhen and how will I be contacted about my audition results?
Only candidates who have passed the audition will be contacted by a company staff member.
QCan I apply through a smart phone?
"Yes. Anywhere you have internet, you can apply by computer or your smart phone. ※We recommend you use your browser's newest version."
QI am a university student at the moment. Can I enter the audition?
"Yes, you can. Amuse does work with artists who are currently in school.
We will discuss with the artists then decide how they build their careers while they are still in school."
QCan we apply from overseas?
Yes you can. We do not ask where you currently reside.
QWhen, where, and how will the next stage in the audition occur? How many stages are there in total?
These details will only be explained to those who pass the first audition stage.
QWill I have to pay for the transportation and accomodation fees in order to attend the interview?
Typically , no. Amuse will cover them all, so the interviewees won't be paying for those fees.
QHow much is it to submit an application？
There are no fees to apply. Your own online computer/smart phone fees may apply, however.
QWill I be charged fees after I pass the audition？
Typically, no. You will not be responsible for any expenses related to the contract, lessons, etc.
QI currently don't reside in Japan. Will I have to relocate myself to Japan if I passed the audition?
No, relocation to Japan is not a requiment. Amuse will discuss with the artists in order to decide their career paths.
